Alfrancis Chua hits back at Yeng Guiao: ‘Pakialaman niya ‘yung team niya’

Alfrancis Chua offered little when sought for comment about his spat with Yeng Guiao shortly after Barangay Ginebra lost to Rain or Shine in Game 4 of their PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinal clash on Wednesday evening.

“‘Yung team niya, ‘di ko pinapakialaman,” the Kings’ team governor told reporters before making his way out of the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

“Pakialaman niya ‘yung team niya, ‘wag niyang pakialaman ‘yung team namin. ‘Yun ang sa akin.”

The two got into a heated argument during the customary postgame handshake at the Big Dome floor, which, according to the Elasto Painters head coach, occurred after Chua asked him, “Ano raw problema ko sa kanya.”

It was a continuation of an exchange that happened early in the match.

Guiao disclosed that he told Chua, also the vice chairman of the league, to stop talking to the referees so as not to intimidate those officiating the tightly contested series.

That didn’t sit well with the former bench tactician, with the straightforward mentor accusing Chua of calling him “ulol” during the altercation.

Chua neither confirmed nor denied what his once-BCAP colleague had said in the postgame presser, but did have a parting shot before leaving the venue.

“Nakikialam. [Pati] Governors, pinakikialaman,” he said of the 67-year-old former politician.

“Trabaho na lang siya. Mag-coach na lang siya.”

The series now reduced to a virtual best-of-3, the crucial Game 5 is set this Friday, May 29, 7:30 PM, still at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
